Victim’s sister sues over fatal blast at Pa. plant

The sister of a man killed in an explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works is suing Nippon Steel and others, alleging myriad safety failures that culminated in the deadly blast that tore through the facility Aug. 11.

Timothy Quinn, 39, was killed in the explosion that rocked the Mon Valley, sending black smoke into the sky and prompting a massive search-and-rescue operation amid the rubble.

The blast also killed 52-year-old Steven Menefee and injured nearly a dozen others…
