WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The system that brought patchy rain to the Cape Fear since Friday will morph into a major blizzard centered off the Jersey Shore through Monday. Northeastern North Carolina could get swiped with a little snow with this feature but, here in southeastern North Carolina, it’ll just get cold. Break out your heavier layers for temps in the 50s falling to 40s Sunday and on to near freezing – with feels likes as low as 20 – by first thing Monday. From there: dry skies will support a warming trend from Monday highs in the chilly 40s to to a milder 60 or so by Wednesday.
Wilmington officially recorded 0.28 inches of rain Saturday and Saturday night; a lot of spots in the Cape Fear did better. Sunday will host a few leftover showers, but the next big change is in the temperature and wind chill department. Bundle up! pic.twitter.com/pTJer9XZra
