Late-night fire in Olathe leaves home unlivable

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – Olathe firefighters battled a significant fire in a duplex-style home just after 10 p.m. on Friday near E. Cothrell St. and N. Walker Ln.

The Olathe Fire Department says crews arrived to find flames lapping from the structure. Firefighters immediately began fighting the fire and brought it under control in approximately 30 minutes.

According to fire investigators, the fire is believed to have started in a laundry-type room. The flames spread throughout the duplex, affecting both units and rendering the entire structure unlivable…
