Bossier Parish high schools switching to A/B block schedule in fall 2026

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KSLA) – Bossier Parish high schools will transition from a traditional block schedule to an A/B block schedule beginning in the fall of 2026, the district announced.

Under the current model, students take four classes every day for 18 weeks per semester. The new schedule will have students rotating between two sets of four classes on alternating days throughout the full school year.

“Currently, right now, the students take four classes per day, every day, for 18 weeks, and a semester they take four different classes, four every day, for 18 weeks,” a district official said. “This model is going to allow us to take, to blend those two semesters together into one schedule, and where students will take four classes on one day, they’ll take the other four classes on the next day, and then rinse and repeat as we go throughout the week.”

Schedule structure unchanged

Class times will not change under the new model. Students will still attend four 90-minute blocks each day.
