Evacuation lifted for ʻŌtake Camp in Waialua, CORE responds to a dozen homeless individuals

WAIALUA, Hawaii (KHON2) — The City and County of Honolulu has lifted the evacuation order for the residents of ʻŌtake Camp in the Waialua area due to rising water levels and dangerous flooding conditions.

It has recently been issued around 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.

Flash Flood Warning remains for Oahu, canceled for Kauai

An evacuation center is now open at Waialua High and Intermediate School for displaced residents.

Emergency officials said they are monitoring the area and residents in the affected area are being directed to evacuate to ensure their safety.

Amid all the weather-related evacuations, the Crisis Outreach Response and Engagement teams assisted a dozen displaced individuals on Oahu today.
