Driver tries to fool police by hiding behind closed business: Brunswick Police Blotter

Police attempted to pull over a driver at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 11 for travelling 64 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver fled, turning onto Skyview Drive, pulling behind the Mr. Tire store and turning his lights off. Police contacted the driver, who reportedly had “glassy eyes, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person and an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.” The man was arrested and taken to the Brunswick Police station, where he refused to perform field sobriety tests or provide a breath sample. He was cited for operating a motor vehicle impaired, speeding, open container and a felony charge of failing to comply with order or signal of a police officer…
