High-Stakes Nuclear Talks Between US and Iran Set for Thursday

Geneva, Switzerland – Diplomats from Washington and Tehran are slated to convene in Geneva on Thursday for critical negotiations concerning a potential nuclear deal, according to official sources. The highly anticipated meeting will see US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner engage with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The upcoming talks hinge on a draft proposal from Iran, which is expected to be finalized by Monday. “If Iran gives a draft proposal, the U.S. is ready to meet in Geneva in order to start detailed negotiations to see if we can get a nuclear deal,” officials stated, as reported by Axios.

This diplomatic push comes after former President Donald Trump previously warned of “bad things” if a deal failed to materialize.

Foreign Minister Araghchi has emphasized Iran’s position, asserting, “So there is no need for any military buildup, and military buildup cannot help it and cannot pressurize us.” He further cautioned, “If the U.S. attacks us, then we have every right to defend ourselves.

Our missiles cannot hit the American soil. So obviously we have to do something else.

We have to hit, you know, the Americans’ base in the region,” according to CBS News.

The negotiations represent a pivotal moment in international relations, with both sides seeking to navigate a complex path toward a resolution on Iran’s nuclear program.
