Maple Street Biscuit Company in downtown Homewood has closed after six years in operation.

Located at 2801 18th Street South, the Cracker Barrel-owned breakfast joint was known for its original variations of biscuits.

One of its most renowned menu items was “The Squawking Goat,” a biscuit with an all-natural and hand-breaded fried chicken breast, fried goat cheese medallion topped with house-made pepper jelly. The biscuit was featured on The Food Network’s show Guilty Pleasures.
