Governor Wes Moore Declares State of Emergency, Closes Maryland State Government

Governor Wes Moore declared a State of Emergency Sunday afternoon as a powerful winter storm was forecast to impact Maryland from Sunday evening through Monday, February 23.

Officials warned that travel would be extremely hazardous, particularly in areas under blizzard warnings, and urged residents to avoid driving, monitor forecasts, and prepare for possible power outages.
