Plain Township veteran sentenced for stealing from Cleveland VA

CLEVELAND ‒ A Plain Township man has been sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for stealing nearly $200,000 in equipment from the Cleveland VA Medical Center where he worked as a logistics employee, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

Dustin Jagger, 41, was charged with purchasing $198,184 worth of iPhones, iPads, home improvement tools, jewelry and “other items converted for personal use” with a government-issued credit card between April 2022 and around May 2023, according to a grand jury indictment issued in June.

Authorities, which announced the sentencing Feb. 20, said the defendant kept some of the items and sold other items on an online marketplace site and pocketed the proceeds…
