Community rallies to help 86-year-old cleaner still working to survive with retirement

WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WXYZ) – A Michigan community is raising money to help an 86-year-old woman, who has worked as a cleaner for more than seven decades, to finally retire.

Elaine Dorland, 86, starts every day at 4:30 a.m. with a cup of coffee before heading to work as a cleaner at her senior living facility in Wyandotte. She says she has been cleaning since she was 12 years old, working various jobs that “never paid nothing.”…
