THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Thomasville Fire & Rescue crews battled a large commercial structure fire Saturday night, according to a press release.
At around 11:38 p.m., crews responded to Chim-Tech, a manufacturer of fireplace mantels and accessories, at 118 Payne Road, where a 911 caller reported hearing an explosion and seeing a building on fire.
Crews arrived to find the single-story building with heavy fire involvement, and a portion of the building had collapsed before their arrival. The fire was prevented from spreading to nearby structures. Personnel cleared the scene at around 5 a.m. Sunday…
