In a matter of five hours, eight people suffered gunshot wounds in two quadruple shootings in Duval County. It is disturbingly the fourth local quadruple shooting this month.
The latest happened about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 22 during a street party in the area of Jessie Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter call in the 700 block of Jessie Street and located a 34-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
A short time later, three additional victims arrived at a hospital ― two men 37 and 43 years old and a 39-year-old woman. All four of the victims were shot at least one time but were in stable condition, the Sheriff’s Office said. Detectives were processing the scene and attempting to develop suspect information and a motive. Little else has been released, but the Sheriff’s Office noted it did not appear to be gang-related…
