List: Warming centers open in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — As temperatures begin to drop back below freezing in Knoxville, warming centers will be open to provide safe overnight shelter for unhoused neighbors.

On Sunday, Feb. 22, Eternal Life Harvest Center at 2410 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. will be open. This shelter does not allow pets.

Here is a list of the locations open on Monday, Feb. 23:

  • Church Street United Methodist Church (900 Henley Street)
  • Cokesbury Church (9919 Kingston Pike)
  • Eternal Life Harvest Center (2410 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.)

Here are the shelters open every night:

  • ReLaunch (409 N. Broadway)
  • Knox Area Rescue Ministries (418 N. Broadway)

The Office of Housing Stability said the centers open nightly, and another location will open at 1801 Western Ave. if the MLK location reaches capacity. The centers do not require identification, but guests must be able to perform daily living activities independently…
