LEXINGTON, KY — Two former employees of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington have been sentenced to federal prison for separate incidents involving bribery, illegal gratuities, and the smuggling of contraband into the facility.
Tobacco and Synthetic Marijuana Smuggling
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 36-year-old A. Jade Howard of Port Charlotte, Florida, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison. Howard, a former correctional officer and materials handler, admitted to smuggling tobacco and a substance she believed to be synthetic marijuana into the prison in exchange for payments.
