A Dania Beach church was left with a gaping hole in its roof Friday afternoon after a partial collapse that, remarkably, caused no reported injuries. Neighbors looked on as emergency crews rushed in, blocking nearby streets while aerial shots showed a huge section of roof torn open and piles of debris visible inside.
According to WSVN, 7Skyforce cameras caught the aftermath at a church near 102 Northwest Seventh Avenue on Friday. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue told the station the building was empty when most of the roof came down, and crews quickly cordoned off the surrounding area; no injuries were reported. As of the station’s evening report, officials had not yet determined what caused the collapse.
Public property records list the parcel at 102 NW 7th Ave as religious land use, indicating the property has served as a house of worship in the past, according to LoopNet. The building sits just off Dania Beach’s central corridor in a neighborhood that mixes homes with small local businesses.
