Hudson Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Hit-And-Run Of Tampa Cyclist

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old Hudson man is now facing a second-degree murder charge following a fatal collision that killed a bicyclist earlier this week. The Florida Highway Patrol updated the charges against Logan Richard Pineda as new information surfaced during their investigation into the February 19 crash.

The incident took place around 9:00 PM on Parkwood Street. Authorities report that Pineda was driving a Tesla Model Y southbound when he struck a 52-year-old woman from Tampa who was cycling in the same direction. Following the impact, the driver left the scene while the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. She later died from her injuries.

While troopers were still processing the scene south of Bert Street, Pineda returned and identified himself as the driver involved. He was initially arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving a death and transported to the Pasco County Jail…
