COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Columbus Regional Healthcare hosted a heart health fair in Riegelwood Friday, drawing roughly three dozen attendees to a free event offering blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings.
Organizers said the event was designed to connect residents with health services, particularly in rural parts of the county.
“By coming here, we’re able to come to the patient and in this county there’s a lot of transportation issues and needs,” an organizer said. “So by coming to the patient, we’re able to give them the care they need right here in their home.”…
