CHERRY VALLE, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — A state champion was crowned Saturday by the IHSA in girls bowling. It happened at the Cherry Bowl.12 teams were still in pursuit of the championship at the start of the day with six games to roll. Two were local teams, Hononegah and Harlem.Hononegah junior Addison Brien led the Indians. She had a strong 11th-place individual finish after averaging 207 for the tournament. Hononegah finished ninth place as a team.Harlem came into Saturday going after back-to-back state championships. The A-Team, a trio of seniors were determined to make that happen…Alexis, Allison and Ashlin.Ashlin Teves finished the tournament in 8th place individually with a 213.6 average. Allison Roberts finished in second place with a 213.6 average, and Alexis Born finished second individually with a 215.3 average. That put the three Harlem seniors in the top eight of all the bowlers in the state.That was more than enough to boost Harlem to the championship…..
