SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The University of South Dakota responded to a bomb threat Saturday evening.
USD was informed of a bomb threat phoned in to the Clay Area Emergency Services Communication Center (911). Upon receiving the threat, USD established emergency response protocols, coordinating with the Vermillion Police Department, as well as state and federal law enforcement.

Responders were able to determine that the threat was not credible and was consistent with a “swatting” call–a false emergency call. There was no threat to the USD campus, students, staff, faculty, or visitors.
