CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte police are aiming to make the city safer with three grants from the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program.
In January, the Charlotte City Council approved CMPD to apply for a total of $329,169 in state money. The funding would help police keep up with the fast-paced growth of the area.
“I think the City of Charlotte is growing at a tremendous rate. It’s great for the city. For traffic, I’ll be honest, it’s terrible,” said Detective Danny Leung of the Major Crash Investigation Unit.
