Michigan wakes up to a cold, steel-gray sky and a biting 24-degree chill across Grand Rapids. A stiff north wind gusts near 25 mph, pushing wind chills down to around 11 degrees. In far western Mason, Oceana, and Van Buren counties, lake-effect snow showers continue early, leaving pockets of slick pavement.
