3 drivers charged after 3 separate police chases in La Vergne

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — In a single day, La Vergne law enforcement said they encountered three separate drivers “operating vehicles in a reckless manner,” leading to three pursuits and, eventually, three arrests.

All of the incidents took place on Friday, Feb. 20. According to the La Vergne Police Department, when officers tried to perform traffic stops, each of the three drivers decided to flee.

Authorities said they conducted all three chases safely, adding that none of the drivers got away.

Officials said the drivers — whose names were not released — were charged with the following offenses:

  • First driver:
    • Felony evading
    • Felony reckless endangerment
    • Unlawful weapon possession during the commission of a dangerous felony
    • Reckless driving
  • Second driver:
    • Driving under the influence
    • Reckless endangerment
    • Felony evading
    • Misdemeanor evading
    • Reckless driving
    • Open container
  • Third driver:
    • Reckless driving
    • Felony evading
    • Resisting
    • Assault on a law enforcement officer
    • Unlawful possession of a firearm
