Married Couple, Infant Killed In Fiery Tractor Trailer Crash On NJ Turnpike In Westampton: Cops

A married couple and their 5-month-old baby were killed when the tractor-trailer they were riding in struck another tractor-trailer in South Jesey on the NJ turnpike over the weekend, according to State Police and those who knew the family.

Albert Sparks, 49, of Plainfield, was behind the wheel of a Freightliner carrying 33-year-old Kuirsten Simmons, of Orange, and their 5-month-old baby girl, when the vehicle struck the back of a Volvo tractor-trailer operated by a North Bergen man, just after 2:15 a.m. in Westampton on Saturday, Feb. 21, according to NJSP Sgt. Charles Marchan and family friends.

The Volvo ran off the road to the right and the Freightliner became fully engulfed in flames, Marchan said.  Sparks, Simmons, and the baby were pronounced dead at the scene…
