On Tuesday, February 24 at 7 pm, Christiansburg Town Council will consider rezoning 37.9-plus acres of land on 300 Kimball Lane S.W. to allow for a new housing development of 53 single-family detached homes.
For the development to move forward, the land must be rezoned from Agriculture to Single-Family Residential. The property is designated as Residential on the Future Land Use Map of the 2013 Christiansburg Comprehensive Plan. Concerns raised at multiple public hearings and governance meetings include traffic patterns, sewer infrastructure, housing density, cost of the homes and overall impact on surrounding neighborhoods.
