The Bioscience Academy at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) is, according to the Foothill Tech website, “a three-year program that provides students … access to advanced coursework, lab skills, leadership experience and career exposure,” and is dedicated to supporting students with an interest in a future in the sciences. The program tackled their career exposure goal with the annual Entree to Employment event held in Spirito hall from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 21.
This event invited over thirty professionals from careers involved in the Bioscience curriculum to dine with the class of 2027 (Cohort 21) and class of 2026 (Cohort 20) of the Bioscience Academy. Professionals such as physical therapists, biochemists, firefighters and forensics officers were in attendance and they answered questions and discussed their careers with the upperclassmen Bioscience students.
“I think this type of event allows you to kind of look ahead and go, if I follow my path, this is a possibility.
