Via ESPN Research: Cincinnati’s 16-point win is the largest by an unranked team at Kansas since Iowa State won by 24 at Allen Fieldhouse in 1973.The loss also snapped Kansas’ 425-game run of not losing by double-digits at home against an unranked opponent.https://t.co/QOJnxtZu7L

Incredible: Cincinnati improves to 15-12 with an 84-68 win at No. 6 Kansas. The largest margin of defeat at home EVER under Bill Self and Kansas’ first double-digit home loss to an unranked team since 1993.

^^ Cleaning up some syntax: Note that it’s the largest margin of defeat for KU at home under Self vs. an unranked opponent.

This is one of those games that just stops you and makes you realize how dumb this sport is. I mean that as a compliment. You don’t know what the hell you’re getting out of these teams. Cincinnati has been bad, bad to the point that Wes Miller was apologizing after games to fans. Then they go to Phog Allen and just beat the hell out of Kansas. Let me be more specific – they beat the hell out of a Kansas team where Darryn Peterson played 32 minutes. You know the guy we bitch about not playing and then he does and it leads to this.

Yeah, I used big numbers because it just shows you how weird this game is. Everyone has been praising Kansas lately. They look the part, whether Peterson was playing or not. They were a 3 seed in this morning’s bracket reveal on CBS. Now? Now you lose to a team that was all but dead and give them life considering they get to play Texas Tech without Toppin and BYU without Saunders still to get quality wins. Not sure how many UC fans want Wes Miller back, but this is the sort of win that can put you on the bubble.

I don’t know man. Kansas doesn’t lose on Big Monday or at Phog Allen. It’s just something we’re used to at this point. Instead they never looked right and Moustapha Thiem was the best player on the court. It’s kind of the perfect start to a day like today though. We have the top-4 teams playing each other. We have elite matchups all over the place. Start the day with an upset that I don’t think even the most diehard UC fans saw coming. It’s good prep for the next 6 weeks on the calendar…
