Grand Rapids, Michigan – The women’s track & field team concluded the two day WHAC Indoor Championships with a third place finish. The Saints tallied 125.5 points and recorded one conference champion on the day. Indiana Tech won the meet with 178.5 points.
Madison Rempalski was named the conference’s Most Valuable Performer as she totaled 26 points. In addition to winning the 5000 meters on Friday, she won the Mile (5:00.08) and placed third in the 1,000 meters (3:01.29). Her time in the mile improves her “A” standard and strengths her hold on the #4 spot on the Saints All-Time List. She currently sits in seventh in the mile on the NAIA’s performance list. Also in the mile, the Saints secured more points with Lauren Wooer (4th place – 5:24.27), Emma Monroe (7th place – 5:45.39), and Kyra Beemer (8th place – 5:47.65).
The 1,000 meters was another productive event for AQ as Amber Koole placed second with a time of 3:00.22, while Ella Koons was fifth (3:05.48). Koole would hit the provisional qualifier for Nationals in the 1k and would also place third in the 600 meters (1:37.79). Cadence Schultz also picked up a point in the 600 meters with an eighth place finish (1:40.85). The middle distance crew also tallied points in the 800 meters with Lexi Hurst (4th place – 2:20.62) and Wooer (5th place – 2:21.12). Hurst and Schultz would team up with Theresa Judd and Sophia Schrauben to place sixth in the 1600 meter relay (4:07.46)…
