I still can’t stop thinking about how quickly things can change in a matter of minutes. Tuesday evening, around 6 p.m., a mobile home on the 1700 block of Galway Drive in Marion became the scene of a terrifying fire. When the Marion Fire Department crews arrived, flames and thick smoke were already pouring from the home, signaling how fast the situation had escalated.
You can imagine the chaos — neighbors outside, smoke filling the air, sirens wailing down the street. Thankfully, the resident had already made it out safely with the help of some quick-thinking neighbors. Still, the fire didn’t spare the family’s dog, which didn’t survive the blaze.
