Armed man in Caddo Parish allegedly threatens family, chased by police

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A quiet early morning in Caddo Parish turned chaotic when an armed man threatened a family, sparking a multi‑agency chase that ended with the suspect fleeing and crashing in a Shreveport neighborhood.

On February 22, 2026, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with the Blanchard Police Department, responded to a disturbance in the Emerald Bay Loop area of Blanchard around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say a woman reported that an armed man was allegedly outside her home threatening to kill her and her family.

By the time deputies arrived, the suspect reportedly fled the area in a white sedan. Authorities later spotted the vehicle traveling on Louisiana Highway 1 near Scarpengo Road when Caddo deputies initiated a felony traffic stop.

Police say the driver allegedly refused to pull over and sped away, heading south on Highway 1 before entering Interstate 49 and continuing into the Martin Luther King Drive neighborhood.
