TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Tucson Fire Station 14 opened Monday, February 23, on the south side of the city, replacing a station on South Liberty Avenue that firefighters had used since 1968.
The new facility is funded by Proposition 101 and backed by a nearly $10 million investment.
The new station at 5500 South Nogales Highway is more than four times the size of the old one at 15,000 square feet and includes direct access to major roads. Eight firefighters are assigned per 24-hour shift, and each has a private dorm room and access to four bathrooms…
