NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY)– A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News last week.
Police have arrested 21-year-old Jacquese Ihienkonye of Newport News in connection to the shooting that occurred at the Palace Inn and Suites on February 17.
Police were called to this shooting around 5 p.m. When they arrived, they found two men suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
19-year-old Taurion Reed later died of his injuries.

Ihienkonye was arrested on February 22 and faces the following charges:
- First-degree murder
- Robbery
- Conspiracy to commit felony
- Use of firearm in commission of felony
