EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Authorities have confirmed to Eyewitness News that one person is in custody following a standoff with Vanderburgh Sheriff’s Deputies on Tekoppel and Forest Avenue.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Monday afternoon, but the suspect fled from the scene leading to a short pursuit. Deputies reportedly self-terminated the pursuit, but were able to locate the suspect vehicle nearby.
Authorities say deputies were surrounding a home in the area and were in the process of writing out a search warrant for a home where the suspect was believed to be when the driver left the building and surrendered to authorities…
