Advocates for people experiencing homelessness in Louisville held a rally Monday in the alleyway where 35-year-old Tyrah Adams was killed on Feb. 12.
City officials say Adams was asleep among debris behind J & M Foodmart when a dump truck came down the alley. Workers picked up Adams and the surrounding debris using a hydraulic claw attached to the truck and dropped her shortly after. Although she was able to walk into the store, where someone called 911, Adams later died from her injuries.
While Louisville leaders have called Adams’ killing a tragic accident, advocates for the homeless say her death was entirely preventable…
