NEW YORK (PIX11) — Schools around New York and New Jersey have announced closings for Tuesday as cleanup efforts from the intense snowstorm continue.
In New York City, Central Park saw its ninth-highest snow total in recorded history. On Monday afternoon, Mayor Zohran Mamdani lifted the non-essential vehicle travel ban that had been in effect since Sunday night.

The mayor also announced that students at New York City Public Schools will be back for in-person classes on Tuesday, despite the snowy road conditions.
For students on Long Island, in New Jersey, and north of New York City, school may have to wait another day…
