STUART – A parent’s comment during the Feb. 17 joint meeting of the Martin County Commission and School Board, Stuart Commission and Indiantown Village Council at the Blake Library got the attention of all board members and an official response after she described what she viewed as inadequate school zone protections near Citrus Grove Elementary School.
Martin County Council PTA Member Kelly Ribaudo was the one of only two public speakers that morning.
“I’m here today as a parent and advocate for student safety in Martin County,” she said. “Martin County is growing rapidly with population now exceeding 165,000 residents. We are seeing more development, more vehicles and increased congestion. In the first three months of 2025 alone, there were already 12 traffic deaths. These numbers represent real risks to our community.”…
