Worcester provides update Monday afternoon on blizzard cleanup

Monday afternoon Worcester provided an update on the cleanup efforts throughout the city after a blizzard dropped over a foot of snow.

Mayor Joe Petty thanked the city’s DPW workers, “he streets are passable here in the city for having the blizzard conditions and just set some expectations. We’ve had close to 13 inches of snow. We’ll probably get another three or four inches before the storm is over. We’re under blizzard warnings. So I just ask people to be patient. Not to go out if you don’t have to. Stay out of the way of the plows.”

Petty added Worcester Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, “the public schools will be closed tomorrow. I just want to thank everybody again. I want to thank MassDOT for their equipment that they brought here to the city of Worcester.”…
