AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The League of Women Voters of Amarillo was founded 75 years ago with a mission to empower voters and defend democracy.
“So League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization, or support parties or candidates, but we do take stances on issues after we’ve studied them and come to a consensus, explained Kim Anderson with League of Women Voters of Amarillo. “The main way we do that is informing and preparing our voters to be able to go out and want to vote, feel knowledgeable enough to vote, and know how to vote.”
As the primaries approach, the League of Women Voters of Amarillo is still working towards that mission…
