Northwest Side Home Turns Crime Scene As Man, 40, Shot Multiple Times Inside

A quiet Sunday on Chicago’s Northwest Side turned violent when a 40-year-old man was shot multiple times inside his home, leaving him in critical condition, police said.

The shooting happened around 12:40 p.m. on the 3500 block of North Rutherford. The victim was taken to Loyola Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Officers recovered a firearm at the scene, and the investigation remains active, according to police.

According to FOX 32 Chicago, the Chicago Police Department provided the initial details to reporters and said Area Five detectives have been assigned to the case. The station reported that police shared the timeline and scene information with local media.
