BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – An unclaimed property check was issued to a Denham Springs resident during a meeting of the Zachary Rotary Club on Feb. 19.
The check, totaling $20,485.84, was presented to Samuel Duffy by Louisiana State Treasurer Dr. John Fleming.
Fleming spoke to members of the club about the functions of the Louisiana Department of Treasury and reviewed the recent accomplishments of the office, including the return of unclaimed property to Louisiana residents.
“One in six individuals in Louisiana has unclaimed property, with claims averaging $900,” said Fleming. “It is your money; we want you to claim it.”…
