Arkansas to introduce new work, community engagement requirements this summer

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that a soft implementation of new work and community engagement requirements will begin July 1, with no penalties taking effect until January 1, 2027.

The new program will require healthy adults enrolled in Arkansas Health and Opportunity for Me (ARHOME) to work, volunteer, or go to school for at least 20 hours per week (80 hours per month).
