Woman hit trying to catch loose dog near Monticello, hit-and-run investigation underway

GREEN COUNTY, Wis. (WIFR) – Deputies in Green County ask for help to find the driver responsible for hitting a woman and leaving her on the side of the road Friday night.

Around 7 p.m. Feb. 20, someone called 911 about a serious crash in the W6400 block of County Highway C in the Town of Washington, about four miles west of the Village of Monticello.

The Green County Sheriff’s Office reports a 58-year-old woman from Argyle got out of her vehicle to catch a loose dog found along the road. Deputies say her vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane and had its hazard lights on…
