(KMAland) — A trio of KMAland Nebraska athletes have earned the latest Jim Hughes Real Estate KMAland Athlete of the Week honors.
Weeping Water’s Ella Huskey is the female recipient. The freshman averaged 27.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Indians. Huskey started week with 30 points and 10 rebounds in Weeping Water’s sub-district win over Sterling on Tuesday. She followed on Saturday with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals in a sub-district final win over Lourdes. Huskey has averaged 20.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this year.
Nebraska City’s Noah Boyer and Erik Prado share the male athlete. Both were among the 56 Nebraska wrestlers to win state titles on Saturday. Boyer won the Class B 113-pound title. The sophomore dominated on his way to gold with three tech falls and a pin to finish the year 46-3. Prado won the Class C 113-pound title.
