A state trooper, who is the son of Texas Department of Public Safety director Freeman Martin, was suspended for 15 days without pay after he blew through a red light and seriously injured a bystander during a high-speed chase in Austin last year.
An internal investigation found the trooper, Freeman Hunter Martin, violated the agency’s pursuit policy. He was suspended in October, four months after the June 7 crash, which Hearst Newspapers was first to report on last year.
