Foul play not suspected in death of cyclist near Old Town Fort Collins

Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Fort Collins bicyclist near Old Town on Feb. 20.

Fort Collins police responded to a 69-year-old Fort Collins man found near a bicycle at the three-way intersection of Canyon Avenue, Sherwood Street and Magnolia Street just after 6 a.m. Feb. 20, Fort Collins Police Services spokesperson Brandon Barnes told the Coloradoan.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Barnes said police do not suspect any foul play. Investigators believe this involved a single bicyclist and there is no indication a vehicle was involved. Police are still working to determine a cause, including if speed or a medical event could have been factors, police spokesperson Brittany Springer said Feb. 23…
