Jury selection in a downtown Sioux Falls murder trial will start next week. Rattler is accused of pushing 39-year-old Doris High Elk off a wall near the 8th Street Bridge in the summer of 2025. She died from her injuries on July 6. Court Documents say Rattler was convicted of aggravated assault in Minnehaha County back in March 2020.

The University of South Dakota responded to a bomb threat Saturday evening. USD was informed of a bomb threat phoned in to the Clay Area Emergency Services Communication Center (911). Responders were able to determine that the threat was not credible and was consistent with a “swatting” call–a false emergency call

A fire Saturday night at the Sunrise apartments in Mission, S.D. has left a vacant building a total loss. Todd County Sheriff Robert Sedlmajer tells KELOLAND News no one was hurt and the fire’s cause is under investigation.
