Gig Harbor woman killed in wreck near SR 16 exit identified by medical examiner

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a Gig Harbor woman who died in a three-car wreck in Purdy Feb. 18.

Gurpreet Kaur, 42, died from multiple blunt force injuries. The ME ruled her manner of death an accident, according to the office’s public information portal.

Kaur was turning left when her vehicle was T-boned by an oncoming car, The News Tribune reported. A Washington State Patrol press memo that evening indicated that Kaur had stopped her car at a stop sign on Burnham Drive Northwest at the intersection with Purdy Drive Northwest, before attempting to make the turn north. The oncoming car was traveling south on Purdy Drive Northwest and hit Kaur’s car in the intersection. A third car traveling north also crashed into Kaur’s car, according to the memo…
