Virginia health care bills could reshape UVA Health operations

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Several bills moving through the Virginia General Assembly could soon affect how UVA Health operates, according to the Cavalier Daily. The proposals address how doctors practice, how hospitals are paid, and how patients access care.

One bill would limit non-compete clauses for physicians, which could make it easier for doctors to leave hospital systems and practice nearby. Another would expand telehealth access for low-income patients, potentially increasing virtual visits across Virginia.
