COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-The forecast has taken us on a quick trip back to winter, as sub-freezing temperatures and lower relative humidity values bring back cold-weather precautions and winter preparations. It’s a short-lived chill, but enough to remind us that the season isn’t quite finished yet.
The extended outlook, however, shows a steady and welcome warmup. Temperatures will gradually climb from the upper 50s into the 60s, eventually reaching the mid-70s as we head toward the end of the week.
A late-week cold front will deliver much-needed rainfall, sweeping through the area by Friday morning. Unlike many winter cold fronts, this system will not usher in a blast of colder air.
