Fresno Council OKs dozens of new city fees. Which services saw increases?

Residents of Fresno will have to pay more for certain services from various city departments beginning July 1, which is when the city’s budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year takes effect.

The City Council on Thursday approved dozens of new and increased fees for services at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, the Fresno Animal Shelter, and the Department of Public Utilities, among other departments. The new costs are not related to everyday services, such as regular trash-pickups or water rates, and many will only apply to businesses present at the airport or developers building in the city.

But Fresno residents may end up having to pay more when they pick up a pet that’s been captured by animal services. There will be higher costs for water service work. People who need special trash hauls will also have to pay more…
